4.7 tons of Xinjiang Hetian white jade valued at over 100 million yuan (picture included)

In 2006, Mr. Mai transported the jade to the campus of Beijing Daziyuan Academy of Fine Arts in Cuicun Village, Changping District, and entrusted Mr Wang of the academy to process the white jade. However, when the academy relocated and the house leasing dispute between the land leaser, Dongyang Ocean Real Estate Company, was not resolved, the real estate company detained the piece of jade. It is reported that if the jade did indeed come from Hotan, Xinjiang, and the whole piece was made of white jade, it might be worth over 100 million yuan.
