Video Website Gets Second Batch of Licenses, Tudou and Youku Miss Out Again

The second batch of video website licenses issued by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television has officially come out recently. The awardees this time are Uusee.com, Ku6.com and 6rooms.com, three video websites. The top three in the video sharing field, Tudou.com, Youku.com and 56.com (a.k.a. Wole.com), still have no license. Previously, to strengthen the supervision on Internet video websites, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television jointly issued the "Regulations" with the former Ministry of Information Industry. Internet video websites need to obtain the audio-visual service license from the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and the Internet access license from the Ministry of Information Industry.
