According to foreign media reports, Microsoft recently indicated that enterprises skipping Windows Vista and directly upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7 might encounter security risks and other issues. In a white paper titled "The Business Value of Windows Vista," Microsoft Vice President Mike Nash stated that for enterprises, bypassing Vista could lead to problems related to security and support, as well as a lack of flexibility in adapting to evolving business needs. He specifically pointed out that if enterprises wait for the release of Windows 7 at the end of 2009 or early 2010 and upgrade directly from Windows XP, they might find that their applications have become outdated and are unable to function properly.
