June 6, sources told Reuters that Huawei plans to sell equity in its mobile business department. Bain Capital and TPG Capital are among a number of private equity firms waiting to bid. The department consists of five businesses including mobile phones, data cards, and network routers. Reuters cited directly informed persons to report that Huawei has hired Morgan Stanley to sell the majority stake in the department. According to sources, this rapidly growing department had revenues of over $2 billion last year, doubling the income from 2006. There were also reports that the cash flow of the department was around $250 million.
