Introduction to the Blaster Worm Virus
When the virus runs, it continuously uses IP scanning technology to search for computers on the network with Win2K or XP systems. Once it finds a target, it attacks the system by exploiting the DCOM RPC buffer vulnerability. If the attack is successful, the virus will be transmitted to the targeted computer and infect it, causing abnormal system operations, constant restarts, and even system crashes. Additionally, this virus can launch a denial-of-service attack on one of Microsoft's update websites, causing congestion on the site and preventing users from upgrading their systems through that website. After August 16th, the virus will also disable the attacked system's ability to update the patch for this vulnerability.
