Method for deleting the user dictionary of Intelligent ABC

People who use Smart ABC are generally accustomed to the default input method, but Smart ABC sometimes makes mistakes too, and inadvertently inputting a certain word can turn it into the default input phrase. Sometimes you cannot even select characters, which puts us in a difficult situation. Below, I will explain how to solve this problem.

The user dictionary is located in two files: TMMR.RME and USER.REM, under the path c:\documents and settings\username\application data\microsoft\ime\winabc\. The "application data" folder has hidden attributes, so corresponding system settings must be adjusted to make it visible.

After deleting these two files, remove Smart ABC entirely. Then re-add Smart ABC. For my case (XP), there were no issues after deletion and re-addition. If you find that Smart ABC cannot be used anymore after the above operations, you can download the latest version of Smart ABC from the Smart ABC dedicated website. The installation files for the Smart ABC input method are located in the windows\system32\ directory. They are: WINABC.CNT, WINABC.CWD, WINABC.IME, WINABC.OVL. Reinstallation may require the system disk. It's best not to delete these files.
