Nanchong Wuxing Commercial Pedestrian Street Time: May 20th, at about 10 a.m.
On May 20th, the Nanchong McDonald's was stormed by a crowd. The attackers condemned McDonald's for donating too little money for disaster relief. A group of people surrounded and attacked "the miserly McDonald's" and presented a wreath. The local government responded promptly, deploying plainclothes police to maintain order on the scene and persuade the crowd to disperse. During the process of shooting, a reporter had his camera seized and some photos deleted. Two hours later, McDonald's staff began distributing leaflets, explaining that they had already made a donation. Meanwhile, a text message about "international miserly companies" was circulating in China, listing well-known international companies that have made big profits in China but donated little to the disaster areas.
