Application of Wuwei Disinfection Decoction in Dermatological Diseases
The Wuwei Disinfection Decoction originates from a prescription consisting of five Chinese herbs: honeysuckle, wild chrysanthemum, dandelion, viola, and black mustard seed. This decoction has the function of clearing heat and detoxifying, as well as treating abscesses. Clinically, it is used for various types of toxins, boils, carbuncles, and swellings. 1. Rosacea
In the papular stage of rosacea, the condition belongs to the type of excessive heat toxicity. Treatment should focus on clearing heat, detoxifying, and reducing fire. This formula can be used with the addition of Forsythia suspensa (12g), Scutellaria baicalensis (12g), Gardenia jasminoides (10g), Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae (10g), raw rhubarb (5g), and raw licorice (5g). For rosacea treatment, 3-5 doses are sufficient to achieve satisfying results.
2. Acne
Prescription: Viola philippica (15g), Pollen Typhae (15g), wild chrysanthemum (15g), honeysuckle (15g), black mustard seed (15g), dandelion (30g), red peony root (12g), white芷(10g) as the basic formula. Effects can be seen after 2-3 doses.
3. Herpes Zoster
Honeysuckle (15g), Angelica sinensis (15g), red peony root (15g), raw materials (15g), wild chrysanthemum (15g), black mustard seed (15g), dandelion (30g), viola (30g), Ligusticum chuanxiong (10g). Add Forsythia suspensa (10g) and Isatis indigotica root (30g) for severe heat; add Gentiana scabra (15g), Scutellaria baicalensis (15g), and Gardenia jasminoides (15g) for bitter mouth and red urine; add processed rhubarb (6g) for constipation; add Phellodendron amurense (15g) and Euonymus alatus (12g) for herpes occurring on the lower limbs and abdomen; for postherpetic neuralgia, increase the dosage of raw materials to 30g and add Smilax glabra (30g). All patients recovered within one week of medication.
4. Erysipelas
Erysipelas belongs to the combination of wind-heat yang pathogenic factors and blood heat. Treatment should focus on clearing heat, detoxifying, cooling blood, and activating blood circulation. This formula can be used with the addition of Forsythia suspensa (30g), Prunella vulgaris (30g), Hedyotis diffusa (30g), Oldenlandia diffusa (30g), raw yellow (30g), mountain慈菇(20g), Polygonum cuspidatum (20g), Phellodendron amurense (15g), Anemarrhena asphodeloides (15g), Cortex Moutan (15g), red peony root (15g), Bombyx batryticatus (15g). Ten doses result in recovery.
This formula is an important prescription for treating carbuncle toxins.
