http://www.heyuemusic.com Long Journey Today, I saw the pictures she took during her internship, and naturally remembered this time last year when I took an overnight train to her school by myself. It was my first time taking a night train, having to sit for the whole night, and I still couldn't figure out why I suddenly made this decision. That train, due to its affordability, had many passengers, and unfortunately, I only got a standing ticket. After waiting at the train station for over an hour, I finally saw that train arrive at the platform. In the waiting hall, there were several corridors filled with people waiting for that train, including many who looked like migrant workers because they all carried or dragged large plastic woven bags. Those big bags packed the corridors tightly, so even the most petite girls might need some effort and wisdom to barely walk through. I can't remember how I got on the train, but I do remember it was very difficult. A crowd of people rushed onto the train along with those big bags. I felt like every part of my body was squeezed together. After getting on the train, I sighed in relief and found a relatively comfortable place to lean against. My eyes looked out of the window where everything outside was enveloped in darkness, except for the blurred shadows of trees quickly flashing by. Occasionally, I could see a few faint lights, reminding me of the oil lamps hanging on the heads of fishing boats I saw by the river in my hometown when I was a child. The thick water vapor, like fog, surrounded them but couldn't obscure the flickering lights. When passing through a tunnel, I heard the continuous whistling sound of the train, and the wind crazily blew into the windows, puffing up the clothes sticking to my body. My eyes were blown shut, and a strange feeling welled up in my heart. What am I pursuing far away? The train stopped and moved forward intermittently, and I quietly mumbled the names of the stations. These are the cities I passed through, and perhaps one day, I would unintentionally step off the platform to explore unfamiliar cities, take a lot of beautiful photos, and taste local snacks. When nearing my hometown, there were finally fewer people on the train, and I walked through several carriages to find a seat to sit down. My feet seemed numb already, and the muscles in my legs were tightly stretched. After waiting for a while, I regained sensation. Across from me, there were two people who seemed to have traveled all over China, recounting their past experiences of taking trains - climbing through the windows when they couldn't get on the train, and spending an entire month on a train. When they talked about these stories, their faces remained particularly calm, as if these things never happened to them. http://www.heyuemusic.com
