Before this special operation to crack down on counterfeit and inferior liquor, Siming District Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) had conducted a comprehensive investigation and identified several merchants suspected of selling counterfeit and substandard goods.

Inside the Minqiao Hotel, business administration personnel found an unlicensed store selling 22 wallets and bags suspected to be counterfeit "LV", "Gucci", and "Polo" products. The store owner claimed that these items were brought from Guangzhou for a friend who never came to collect them, so she put them on the shelf but did not intend to sell them.

Deputy Director Li of the Siming District SAIC introduced that in the second quarter, the "double crackdown" campaign would focus on agricultural supplies as part of the "Red Shield Protects Agriculture" special operation. In the third quarter, they would investigate "brand riding" unfair competition actions, deal with counterfeit cosmetics and clothing, and expose illegal cases of online commodity transactions.

Xiamen Network - Xiamen Business News (reporter Chen Lu, correspondent Zeng Qingguang) reported that yesterday morning, the Siming District SAIC launched a full-scale operation, dividing into multiple groups to conduct surprise inspections on alcohol sold by stores within its jurisdiction, seizing 109 bottles of liquor suspected to be counterfeit Jinmen Kaoliang Liquor. Factory staff identified the authenticity of the liquor. Photo taken by Chen Lu.

Yesterday morning, the reporter followed one group of business administration enforcement officers, first arriving at a grocery store in Shentian Community. On the wall outside the store were large characters reading "Jinmen Kaoliang Liquor Distributor," and the shelves were filled with various "Jinmen Kaoliang." Staff from the Jinmen Kaoliang Liquor Factory who had specially come to Xiamen worked with the business administration enforcement officers to inspect the "Jinmen Kaoliang" on the shelves and in the storage cabinets, uncovering dozens of bottles of liquor suspected to be counterfeit Jinmen Kaoliang. The reporter found that not all the "Jinmen Kaoliang" sold in the store were counterfeit; the merchant was mixing genuine and fake liquor for sale.

According to reports, the 2012 "double crackdown" campaign of the Siming District SAIC has been ongoing for two months with significant results. In two months, Siming's business administration dispatched law enforcement personnel to inspect 16,170 business households, resulting in four cases being filed with a case value of 30,800 yuan, and 139 items suspected of infringing rights have been seized.
