Huge ceramic plum vase. Photographed by Yang Wei Guang. Yesterday, one of the landmark buildings in Zhao De Square, Fengfeng Mine District, Handan City - two huge ceramic plum vases were completed. These two ceramic plum vases are located on the east and west sides of the square, 9.9 meters high and with a maximum diameter of 5.18 meters. Each plum vase is made up of 486 baked pottery pieces, weighing 36 tons, making them the largest ceramic plum vases in the country currently. The plum vases feature traditional Cizhou Kiln patterns. The main image is the traditional black carved peony pattern of Cizhou Kiln, the waistline decoration is the "endless wealth" pattern, and the base is decorated with lotus flower patterns. The overall meaning symbolizes peace, wealth, and auspiciousness. It is reported that these two porcelain bottles were fired in 30 kilns over six months by 20 technical personnel. (Editor: SN026)
