"Serving the people, being tired doesn't matter"
Yesterday, an old traffic policeman in Zhengzhou who had worked for ten years particularly liked one sentence from the song "Because I Am a Policeman."
"Shuttling through streets and alleys, shining with brilliance, this is what I have chosen for the glory in my heart." The old traffic policeman said that he believed being a policeman was something to be proud of, "Serving the people, being tired doesn't matter because we are policemen."
"It's normal for shirts to be soaked, sometimes when clenching fists, gloves can squeeze out sweat," the old traffic policeman said. Although riding motorcycles under scorching sun or snowstorms, shuttling through streets and alleys, every time he sees smooth traffic and resolved accidents, he feels gratified.
A police officer from Miaoli Police Station also agreed: "This song is a true portrayal of us policemen. It's impressive that a post-80s policeman could write such an emotional song, and I am proud of him."

Creating this song,寄托 my grief
Regarding some questions netizens were concerned about, yesterday afternoon, Henan Business Daily reporters connected with Peng Pei.
Reporter: I heard you're a post-80s individual, introduce yourself first.
Peng Pei: Hello everyone, I am Peng Pei, from Kaifeng, Henan Province, 24 years old, an ordinary police officer in the Publicity Department of the Lankao County Public Security Bureau, and also a member of the post-80s generation.
Reporter: What made you think of creating this song initially?
Peng Pei: In March 2010, a deputy director of the Lankao County Public Security Bureau died on the way back to Lankao after finishing a case. At his farewell ceremony, many locals came voluntarily, and I saw many people crying, following his hearse all the way, which deeply touched my heart.
At that moment, I had an idea to write a song for those policemen who died in the line of duty, to express my grief. Over the next year, I used my spare time to create "Because I Am a Policeman."
Reporter: The singing, lyrics, and composition of the song were all done by you alone. Have you received any musical training before?
Peng Pei: I just like music, and I'm quite amateur. When I was in kindergarten, my family enrolled me in a guitar class, where I fell in love with music. Later, I also formed a band. Being a policeman is my job, but music is my hobby.
Reporter: Many netizens commented that this song is very touching, what do you think?
Peng Pei: Even now, when I listen to this song that I composed myself, I still feel deeply moved because it embodies my profound respect for the profession of a policeman.
My father is a policeman, and watching his busy figure since childhood inspired me to become a policeman. In late 2007, I became a People's Policeman. More than three years of police work has let me truly understand the burdens and responsibilities of frontline policemen, but just as I wrote in my song, "the reliance of the people makes me feel proud inside."
