Classification and Function of Face Masks
Using face masks in skincare routines is one of the most effective methods to nourish the skin. It can make dry and rough skin become moisturized and smooth, oily and dark skin become fair and tender. Therefore, applying a mask is an important step.
I. Functions of Face Masks
Firstly, regular use of masks promotes the softening of keratin and dilation of pores, which facilitates the absorption of nutrients by the skin.
Secondly, as the mask gradually tightens, it enhances the surface tension of the skin, improving human blood circulation.
Thirdly, the adsorption effect of the mask helps to clear deep-seated dirt from the pores.
II. Classification of Face Masks
Face masks come in various types with different states.
Categorized by function: whitening, freckle-removal, wrinkle-removal, anti-inflammatory, acne treatment, etc.
Categorized by state: ointment-like, gel-like, powder-like, etc.
1. Soft Mask
A powdered semi-finished product that requires water for preparation when used. There are many varieties of soft masks, making them easy to operate and store. When using, first clean the skin, then take an appropriate amount of mask powder, mix with water into a paste, and apply it on the face with a brush or stick. After a few minutes, the paste will naturally solidify. Wait for 15-20 minutes, then peel off the solidified mask from bottom to top, and wash the skin.
Note: High-quality soft masks are non-irritating and do not require avoiding the eyelid area during use. However, ordinary commercial soft masks are best avoided around the eyes and lips.
2. Hard Mask
A powdered semi-finished product made from high-quality medical plaster and kaolin, mixed with other substances. Compared to soft masks, hard masks have more complex functions. The unique penetration power of hard masks and the easily absorbed active ingredients in the mask provide obvious effects whether for nutrition, whitening, or anti-inflammatory treatments.
Note: Clean the skin before use, apply water and base cream, cover eyebrows, eyes, mouth, male beards, and hair-heavy areas with paper. To remove the mask, let the customer move their mouth slightly to loosen the mask powder, then remove the mask from bottom to top.
3. Honey Wax Mask

The honey wax mask forms a closed layer on the skin, enhancing the penetration of active ingredients, promoting sebum and sweat secretion, replenishing skin moisture and nutrients, making the skin hydrated and elastic. Suitable for dry, normal, aging skin, and can also be used for full-body care. However, acne-inflamed and sensitive skin should avoid its use.
