The Rare Golden Yellow Large Diamond - Cora Sun-Drop: Diamonds Over 100 Carats Are Very Rare in History

February 25, China News Service -- According to the British "Daily Mail", London's Natural History Museum will display a rare golden yellow large diamond - The Cora Sun-Drop on February 26. Reports said that this diamond is one of the most stunning diamonds in the world, and it is almost impossible to estimate its value.

It is understood that this diamond was leased to the museum by the well-known American diamond producer Cora International. The company is one of the main high-end diamond producers in the world, having produced white and colored diamonds for more than 30 years, and cut some popular diamonds.

This diamond will be temporarily displayed in the museum's "Treasures Area". The light emitted by this 110-carat large diamond made the model Jerry Hall who showcased it feel dizzy. From the photos, you can see that this diamond is almost as big as the thumb of the female model. Its rounded pear shape and rare golden yellow color are also characteristics of the Cora Sun-Drop.

The Treasures Area is an exhibition area set up by the London Natural History Museum to display rare gems, crystals, metals, and meteorites. Many rare treasures are exhibited here, including the Devonshire Emerald, the Aurora Pyramid of Hope composed of 296 natural color diamonds, the legendary cursed Heron-Allen’s amethyst, and the extremely rare Nakhla Martian meteorite. Now, the Cora Sun-Drop is about to join the ranks of these treasures.

It is reported that diamonds over 100 carats are very rare in history. The golden yellow color indicates that the nitrogen content in the carbon structure of the diamond is very low, and such a rich hue is even rarer in diamonds.

Alan Hart, curator of the Natural History Museum's Mineral Gallery, said: "I have never seen such a diamond. People are more familiar with diamonds around 1 carat in their daily lives, and if they can get one, they would be very happy. So you can imagine how rare and precious a diamond of more than 100 carats is."
