Corn, both northern and southern varieties, ancient superstitions about the development of sweet corn, soft rice cakes made from corn, and even black-colored corn, come in many types. Corn is rich in nutrients, besides various nutrients, its protein and fat content exceed those of rice, flour, and wheat. Half of its high fat content is linoleic acid, along with lecithin and vitamins A and E. Linoleic acid can reduce cholesterol, preventing its deposition on the inner walls of blood vessels, thus actively preventing hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. American scientists have discovered that when dairy cows are fed with corn oil enriched feed, the resulting whole milk contains a form of linoleic acid that can prevent melanoma, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, ovarian cancer, and prostate cancer. This linoleic acid can remove oxygen free radicals within cells, preventing DNA damage and cell mutations that could lead to cancer. Additionally, corn contains glutathione, which has anti-cancer properties.
