[Fig.] Acer officially releases a notebook with a 16:9 display

Acer launched its latest Gemstone Blue notebook Thursday. The machine, first announced in March, features either a 16-or 18-inch display that provides 16:9 aspect ratio, full 1080p displays, allowing the notebooks to play back high-definition movies full screen for the first time.

The machines, differentiated by screen size into two models, Aspire6920 and 8920, also include a media control panel to left of the keyboard and a sound system with 2.1-channel speakers that simulate Dolby 5.1 surround sound.
