[Fig.] Acer officially releases a notebook with a 16:9 display

Acer launched the latest Gemstone Blue notebook on Thursday, a product that was first announced in March. It features a 16/18-inch display and offers a 16:9 widescreen 1080p display, making it the first notebook capable of providing full-screen playback of HD movies.

The notebook is available in two models, the Aspire 6920 and 8920, depending on the display size. It includes a media control panel to the left of the keyboard and a 2.1 sound system that can simulate Dolby 5.1 surround sound effects.
