Haikou, February 6 - According to the report by Ma Weiyan, an intern reporter from Hainan Network, Ms. Wan Huifen, a 60-year-old tourist in Sanya, suffered a sudden brainstem hemorrhage. After her condition stabilized, she needed to be transferred to a hospital in Shanghai. However, due to carrying emergency items such as oxygen cylinders, she could not board a plane or train. Upon learning about this situation, Jiang Sixian, Vice Governor of Hainan Province and Secretary of the Sanya Municipal Party Committee, personally intervened to help coordinate the transfer issue. With assistance from relevant departments, Ms. Wan Huifen finally boarded the K512 train at 16:50 in the afternoon on February 6 under the special escort of doctors and nurses from the 425 Hospital to start her journey to Shanghai.
It is reported that Ms. Wan Huifen and her family member Gu Jiancai are from Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. On December 19th last year, Ms. Wan Huifen suddenly suffered a brainstem hemorrhage while visiting a friend's home. After 21 days of full-scale rescue efforts at the 425 Hospital, the patient passed through the dangerous period.
Since one of the patient's relatives is a doctor at the Sixth People's Hospital of Shanghai, the family hoped to transfer her to Shanghai for treatment. However, according to regulations, patients transferring hospitals need to carry hazardous items such as oxygen cylinders, which prevent them from normally boarding planes or trains. After learning about this situation, Jiang Sixian, Vice Governor of Hainan Province and Secretary of the Sanya Municipal Party Committee, personally helped to coordinate and solve the problem of the patient's hospital transfer.
With active coordination from relevant departments, the railway department agreed to specially open a "green channel" for the patient, allowing her to carry oxygen cylinders and other items onboard accompanied by medical personnel.
At 14:30 on the afternoon of February 6th, the reporter saw Ms. Wan Huifen in the Neurosurgery Department of the 425 Hospital, where she remained in a coma. Around 15:30, the 425 Hospital followed the previously established work plan and used an ambulance to transport the patient and her family to the Sanya train station.
Upon arrival at the train station, according to the principle of special handling, the Sanya train station allowed the ambulance to directly drive onto the platform. The train conductor told reporters that in order to make it convenient for the patient to board, they had specially applied to the Guangzhou Railway Group to transfer the train from Platform 2 to Platform 1. Adjustments were also made inside the patient's carriage to facilitate her boarding.
Yue Jin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Sanya Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Secretariat, personally visited the train station on behalf of the Sanya Municipal Party Committee and Government to coordinate and inspect the patient's carriage situation. He required the staff to do everything possible to ensure the patient arrives in Shanghai smoothly. Yue Jin consoled the patient's family member Gu Jiancai, saying, "This is the patient's second life journey; she will definitely recover!"
Gu Jiancai, with tears in his eyes, told reporters, "As an ordinary tourist coming to Sanya, I have received such care and attention from the Sanya Municipal Party Committee and Government, and so much help from so many loving people, which has truly made me feel the warmth of this city..."
At 16:30, the patient was arranged into a carriage that had been prepared in advance with the help of doctors and nurses. At 16:50, the train slowly started. The reporter saw Gu Jiancai continuously leaning on the train window, waving goodbye to the crowd seeing him off outside, with tears welling up in his eyes.
