Also, don't stay on nearby floors as the temperature there could also be several hundred degrees Celsius (in addition, if you don't have a wet towel, you can only endure for about 3 minutes in thick smoke; if you have such a towel, you might be able to last up to 15 minutes more). You should quickly turn around and go up to the 12th or 13th floor and find a suitable room.
3. What kind of room is suitable?
First, it's not the restroom because most people in fires die not from burning but from suffocation, and restrooms in office buildings are usually located in the middle of each floor without windows. Therefore, you must find a room closest to the main road (so you will become the first object of rescue by firefighters), this room must have windows and no burglar bars (I learned for the first time that in all fires, due to the heavy workload of firefighters, in order to effectively help as many people as possible within a short period of time, those trapped inside burglar bars are always the last ones to be saved). After you and your colleagues enter this room, the first action is to close the door, the second action is to use the most commonly used tape to seal all air conditioning outlets you see, the third action is to break the window of this room, of course if there are many people, these actions can be done simultaneously.
If you worry that the building's windows are made of tempered glass, then tell your male colleagues with strong strength not to hit the middle of the glass. The four corners of tempered glass are the weakest points, and sharp tools can easily break them.
And whether you're at home or in the office, if you're above the third floor, don't casually choose [jumping from the building to escape]. Countless deaths have already shown that none of us are Spiderman or Superman.
4. What should you do while staying in the room?
(1) Definitely don't shout "Help" or "[Save me]" loudly because you will consume more oxygen and inhale too much carbon monoxide and nitrogen, thus meeting God sooner than your colleagues;
(2) Second, if it's during the day, look for brightly colored clothes or cloth strips, wave them vigorously out of the window to attract attention; if it's at night, use a flashlight to attract attention, but in a fire scene, if you don't have a flashlight, a lighter is absolutely not a good choice because lighters are not obvious in a fire scene and can cause flammable gases to explode.
(3) Third, in any fire scene, a wet towel is always a welcome item. Covering your eyes and nose will allow you to hold out longer, thus giving firefighters more time to rescue you.
(4) Learn how to use a fire extinguisher: [Lift, Pull, Aim, Spray]. Pay attention to the difference between dry powder and dry ice fire extinguishers. When your colleague or family member catches fire, only use a dry powder fire extinguisher to spray their bodies, otherwise, the -70 degree dry ice sprayed by a dry ice fire extinguisher will cause their muscles to explode.
(II) At Home
At home, the reasons for a fire are more complex than in the office, but they mainly fall into two categories: the kitchen and household appliances.
1. Kitchen
(1) If you're cooking and the pot catches fire (this is very common in Chinese cuisine and has even become a cooking method for some chefs), what should you do?
You must act quickly, very quickly, take the lid from in front of you, and smoothly cover the pot along its edge, then turn off the heat.
The speed -- before this flame ignites your beautiful European or Chinese-style range hood. If your range hood catches fire, leave the scene immediately and call the police. Since it's full of grease, such a fire is beyond your control.
(2) If your clothes or body catch fire due to splashing oil, you should:
Quickly take off your burning clothes and warn all your family members not to use water, not to put out the fire on your clothes and body with water. There was once a young husband who, in such a situation, poured a basin of water onto his beloved wife, causing the fire to spread along the water-oil mixture on her body. If you take off your clothes but it's still ineffective and your real skin starts to burn (even if the fire isn't caused by oil splashes), please warn yourself and your family not to use water, not to put out the fire on your body with water because every fat molecule in your real skin is a particle of oil. Pouring water down will make your muscles and real skin burst.
Also, please don't use your hands. There was another young husband who, in a panic, used his hands to pat out the flames on his wife's body. Each time he patted, it accompanied by a scream from his wife. Every time he lifted his hand, pieces of blood and flesh were stuck to it. This wife was a teacher at a middle school in Hongkou District. Her husband, in this fire caused by household appliances, tried patting her, dragging her on the ground, using quilts, but none of these methods could stop her final deep third-degree burns -- doctors skillfully saved her life but also announced that her body would require medical expenses of 3500 yuan per square centimeter to repair -- so-called worse than death, perhaps it's just like this.
At this moment, unless you have a dry powder fire extinguisher, or a large amount of sand -- these two things are the least likely to be found at home, otherwise, the most reliable method is to use a thick cotton quilt -- meaning a quilt made of cotton by your mother or grandmother, rather than the nine-hole or seven-hole quilts sold in supermarkets, covering your entire body -- using the method of isolating air to put out the fire -- since those nine-hole quilts aren't thick enough to achieve this effect. Additionally, don't imagine using rice or salt, which look similar to sand, because they will explode on the wounds of your loved ones.
Additionally, if your burn wound sticks to these quilts -- please tell your family who sends you unconscious to the hospital -- to send you and the quilt that cannot be separated together to the hospital, allowing the doctor to perform the separation. Otherwise, every part of your body that sticks to the quilt will become a huge wound.
(3) If you smell the odor of gas leaking in your home, what should you do?
First, open the windows -- opening the windows is not to let the gas escape, but to prevent you from fainting due to lack of oxygen in the gas; then turn off the main gas valve; finally, take your mobile phone downstairs to call the police.
If such an event happens in a dry winter, please move steadily, slowly, and get out of your house, otherwise, the static electricity on your sweater will become the ignition point for an explosion.
(4) Gas has an odor, but natural gas does not, so taste is unreliable, so a gas leak alarm must be installed, its loud buzzing must be sufficient to wake you and your family.
(5) Whether it's at night or when you've just returned home from work, if you hear the alarm sound, never do the action you often do -- turn on the lights -- it will cost you your life in an explosion!
2. Appliances
(1) Completely turn off your TV and computer
Recently, in one family, the owner habitually turned off the TV with the remote control before sleeping. Since their TV had been excessively fatigued in long-term standby mode and sparked a fire, this habitual action caused the owner to lose his only son and his own only right hand.
All electrical appliances in your home, except refrigerators designed to work all night, should not and should not work all night while you sleep -- especially chargers and TVs.
(2) Do not connect more than three appliances to a single power strip.

Use of Dry Powder Fire Extinguisher: (1) Lift, holding the handle to lift the fire extinguisher; (2) Pull, remove the safety pin; (3) Aim, aim at the fire source from more than 1.5 meters away (for electrical fires, it should be further) from the side rear; (4) Press, press the spraying device to spray towards the fire source, moving horizontally to surround and cover the fire source with dry powder. For safety, prolong the duration. After using the fire extinguisher once, all pressure disappears within 30 minutes, and next time it needs to be re-pressurized and refilled.
