The stray pet rescue station encounters difficulties as netizens repost over ten thousand times to support "Laifu Courtyard" - nearly a hundred stray dogs face food shortages, and a Weibo post (http://t.sina.com.cn) seeks help.

"The courtyard has run out of food, and nearly a hundred dogs are living hand-to-mouth..." This Weibo post was forwarded over ten thousand times within a few days, bringing the Laifu Courtyard rescue station in Fengtai District into the public eye and making it a focal point of attention.

**Visit**

Stray animals find a home in a secluded courtyard.

Yesterday afternoon, the reporter visited the stray pet rescue station - Laifu Courtyard - located in Dagai Village, Fengtai District.

Upon entering the locked gate, one could see thirty or forty dogs playing on the open ground in the yard.

Among them, some had lame legs, others injured eyes, but they knew that as long as they were within this gate, they were safe.

A row of bungalows inside the courtyard served as a shelter for these sick or disabled dogs, protecting them from wind and rain.

**Current Situation**

An elderly man in his sixties struggles alone to support the rescue station.

Li Jun, 61 years old, is the owner of this courtyard and the "only family" for these stray small animals. "I treat them all like my children, so I am their grandmother," Li Jun said.

Out of love for small animals, Li Jun couldn't bear seeing stray animals on the streets with no one to care for them, so he rented this courtyard to give them a place of safety. However, with only a meager salary of over 1700 yuan per month, supporting such a rescue station is not an easy task.

The rescue station, founded in April this year, faced its most severe famine on August 17th. "In order to find food for them, I even rummaged through garbage bins at night, just hoping they wouldn't go hungry." Speaking of this, Li Jun appeared very saddened.

**Request for Help**

Netizens post on Weibo to seek help for the courtyard.

Good-hearted people who have visited the courtyard set up a Weibo account online to introduce the situation there. "The last famine was alleviated by dog food donated by netizens, but these supplies can only last for a month; the issue of food for the future remains unresolved," Li Jun said.

Currently, the rescue station houses over 80 stray dogs and more than 20 stray cats, requiring at least 50 kilograms of food daily.

"As the weather gets colder day by day, the winter blankets and soil-heating systems still haven't been resolved." Speaking about these issues, Li Jun seemed at a loss.

During the half-hour interview, Li Jun's phone kept ringing non-stop. Most calls were from volunteers informing her of newly discovered stray small animals. However, due to limited resources, Li Jun simply doesn't have the capacity to take in new members.
