Yueyang News: After many unsuccessful attempts to collect a debt, a creditor actually agreed with the debtor to offset the debt by drugs. As a result, the creditor ended up in jail, and the crime of the debtor selling drugs was also exposed. On February 24, Linxiang People's Court publicly tried the case of Meng Mou illegally holding drugs, and sentenced the defendant Meng Mou (male, 40 years old, Liaozhong County, Liaoning Province) to seven years and six months in prison for illegal possession of drugs, and fined him RMB 5000 yuan. On September 8, 2011, the defendant Meng Mou carried the drugs offset by Chen Mou, and drove with his younger brother from Dongguan back to their hometown in Liaoning, intending to sell the drugs for profit. Unexpectedly, when the vehicle passed through the Linxiang section of the Jingzhu Expressway, it was caught by the duty police. Later, after technical identification by relevant departments, it was confirmed that among the 76.7 grams of drugs illegally held by the defendant Meng Mou, there were 68.7 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 1.1 grams of ketamine (K powder), and 6.9 grams of ecstasy pills. According to the case handling police officers, Chen Mou suspected of drug trafficking is still being pursued by the police. In June 2000, Meng Mou met Chen Mou (currently at large) through a friend. At the end of January 2011, Chen Mou borrowed 5000 yuan from Meng Mou, orally promising to pay back within three months. However, after the repayment deadline arrived, Meng Mou asked Chen Mou multiple times for repayment, but Chen always said he had no money. Later, after negotiations, Chen gave Meng three types of drugs: crystal methamphetamine, K powder, and ecstasy pills, totaling 76.7 grams, to offset the 5000 yuan debt.
