As modern society continues to develop, with more frequent social interactions and changes in lifestyle, people are increasingly paying attention to their overall appearance. Appearance not only reflects an individual's气质 (mien), cultivation, taste, but also represents status and identity. Therefore, as a makeup artist, when designing makeup, it is necessary to harmoniously coordinate with hairstyle, clothing, and other styling elements. Only by achieving the unity of form beauty, spiritual beauty, and quality beauty can one present a perfect image.

1. Color cosmetics have the function of beautifying facial features, adjusting skin tone, reshaping facial contours, and modifying the proportions of facial features. In international terms, color cosmetics are usually referred to as cosmetic color products. These types of cosmetics can generally be divided into two categories: one is the concealing category, used to cover up skin imperfections and harmonize skin tone, such as concealer creams, foundations, loose powders, and pressed powders; the other is the color category, used to modify the contours of facial features, making the image more vivid, such as lipsticks, eyeshadows, lip liners, eyebrow pencils, and blushes.

There are many kinds of commonly used makeup tools, and their areas of use and functions vary. Common tools for applying foundation and setting makeup include foundation sponges, powder puffs, and powder brushes. Tools commonly used for eye modification include eyeshadow, eyeliner brushes, double eyelid tapes, false eyelashes, and eyelash curlers. Tools commonly used for eyebrow modification include eyebrow combs, tweezers, eyebrow scissors, and eyebrow razors. Tools for modifying complexion include contour blush brushes, and tools for lips include lip brushes.

2. Base Makeup —— refers to the overall base color blending of the human face. The role of base makeup is akin to creating a "man-made skin" that blends seamlessly with natural skin. The techniques of base makeup are very crucial because skin tone plays a vital role in makeup. A successful makeup look largely depends on the state of skin tone modification. Therefore, if makeup is compared to a skyscraper, skin tone modification is the foundation. At the same time, the effect of skin tone modification is also an important criterion for testing the basic skills of a beautician.

3. Eyebrows are often referred to as the "rainbow of emotions," which shows the importance of eyebrows in facial aesthetics. They not only significantly influence facial expressions but also reflect fashion trends. Especially in correcting face shape and emphasizing the three-dimensional appearance of the eyes, they play a crucial role.

Steps for eyebrow grooming: Clean the eyebrows and the surrounding skin; choose appropriate eyebrow grooming tools to remove excess hair outside the desired brow shape; use an eyebrow scissors to trim messy or excessively long hairs, making the brows neat; use tweezers to pluck stray and excessive hairs at the root; comb the finished eyebrows and trim any overly long ones; then apply astringent toner to the eyebrows and surrounding skin to contract the pores.

Steps and methods for drawing eyebrows: Start from the middle of the brow, following the direction of hair growth, draw towards the brow arch to form an upward arc; start from the brow arch, follow the direction of hair growth, slant downward to the tail of the brow, forming a descending arc; draw towards the start of the brow from the middle; use an eyebrow brush to blend the eyebrows, making them soft and cohesive with other parts.

Eyeliner is sometimes referred to as an eye line. In fact, there is no physiological eye line, so in professional terms, it is not called an eye line but rather a lash line. The thickness and depth of physiological lashes follow this rule: upper lashes are thicker and darker, lower lashes are lighter and finer; lashes near the outer corner of the eye are heavier, while those near the inner corner are sparser and lighter. When drawing the lash line, follow this natural state.

Steps and methods for drawing lash lines: Observe the shape of the eyes and determine the height of the upper lash line; when drawing the lower lash line, look upwards and draw from the outer corner of the eye towards the inner corner.
