A package delivered to the door exploded when opened, injuring the male resident in multiple areas including the head, chest, and hands. As of the next day, he had not yet come out of the danger period - at 8 PM the previous evening, Room 15 on the D Building of Lideyasha on Zhongshan Avenue in Guangzhou was attacked by a mail bomb, reportedly related to disputes involving the attacked household. It is known that the Tianhe police have intervened in the investigation.
Community under lockdown after attack
"A package explosion happened tonight, it was so terrifying." At 11 PM last night, Lideyasha owners first disclosed the event online. A D building resident and Weibo user "Feng Ge Shuo Shi" stated that after the incident, the lobby of Building D was temporarily locked down to assist the police investigation.
"Hildada da Mei," who earlier broadcasted the event via Weibo, attracted much attention from urban netizens. She described further saying that she was visiting a friend's house when this accident happened, “When they picked up the package from the doorstep and opened it inside, it exploded, and one finger was blown off.”
Black smoke filled the corridor, blood stains everywhere
After entering Building D and ascending to the 15th floor, there were no abnormalities seen coming out of the elevator, nor any bloodstains on the ground. The involved Room 1509 has been sealed off, with no visible damage around the door, and all traces of the explosion had been cleaned up. When the journalist tried to further interview, security forcibly asked the journalist to leave.
Neighborhoods recounted the residents' description of the 15th floor: an explosion sound was heard, and when everyone went out to check, black smoke had already filled the corridor, "for a moment, we thought it was an explosion followed by a fire." They discovered that along the way from Room 1509 to the elevator, there were many bloodstains.
At 4 PM yesterday, the journalist arrived at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Southern Medical University. Emergency department nurses confirmed that at about 9 PM the previous evening, they treated a male patient injured in an explosion. The patient suffered injuries to multiple areas including his head, chest, and hands, and was sent to the ICU for treatment. At the emergency service counter, the journalist saw police officers consulting medical staff about the case and mentioned the words "mail explosion."
