Li Peiyou, Zhang Qingbin: A Stubborn Belief on the Last Day of Winter Vacation
A man, upon seeing his wife's hand being held by another man on the road, suspected an inappropriate relationship between them. In a fit of rage, instead of confronting the issue directly, he torched the man's motorcycle. Recently, the People's Procuratorate of Pei County, Jiangsu Province, prosecuted Shi Pu for intentional property damage.
On the evening of January 19th, Shi Pu, a villager from a certain village in Pei County, returned home and found his wife, Zhang, had not yet come back. He decided to go to the west end of the village to pick her up. On the way, he accidentally saw a fellow villager, Wang, holding his wife Zhang's hand. Upon noticing Shi Pu, Wang awkwardly hid behind a dilapidated house. Shi Pu felt increasingly convinced that they were involved in something improper. He began hurling insults at Wang and then proceeded to smash Wang's motorcycle with bricks from the ground. Still unsatisfied, he surrounded the motorcycle with corn stalks and set it ablaze with a match. After evaluation, the burned motorcycle was valued at RMB 5760.
The case came to light after being reported by the public.
