Haikou, February 15th, (reported by He Huirong, communicated by Yu Rongbiao and Fu Caiyi) - A post-90s hairdresser in Haikou decided to take revenge due to a small friction in the restroom. He gathered his friends to chase and beat the other party, forcing them to jump into a smelly ditch. However, the group of hairdressers did not attempt a rescue and instead left the victim to drown. In the end, the hairdresser and his accomplices were sentenced to four years in prison and ordered to pay a substantial compensation of 288,000 yuan.
Upon investigation, it was found that Yan is from Haikou and works as a hairdresser in a local beauty salon with a junior high school education. At around 1 a.m. on December 5th, 2010, Yan was drinking with friends at a barbecue garden inside Wanlu Garden. During a restroom visit, Yan had a conflict with the victim Jiang (male, from Jiangyong County, Hunan Province). Consequently, Yan and his friends, including Ye, assaulted Jiang and his companions. Jiang fled to the smelly ditch on the east side of Wanlu Garden. In a panic, Jiang jumped into the ditch to save himself. Upon seeing this, Ye and others did not attempt any rescue but turned and left the scene. Ultimately, Jiang drowned.
Recently, after the Longhua District Procuratorate filed a public prosecution, the court convicted defendant Yan of intentional injury, sentencing him to four years in prison and ordering him to compensate Jiang's father with 288,000 yuan.
