According to witnesses, at the time she was selling vegetables not far from the meat stall when she suddenly heard someone shouting: "Murder!" Too frightened to get closer, she could only look from afar and saw a woman lying in a pool of blood, struggling in agony. Currently, suspect Luo has been criminally detained and the case is under further investigation.
On February 25th in the morning, at a meat stall in the Gongqu Road market in Xinyang City, a young man picked up a 20-centimeter-long boning knife from the meat stall and stabbed a woman in her twenties. The woman was stabbed three times and despite being sent to the hospital, she eventually died due to ineffective rescue efforts. Four hours after the incident, the perpetrator turned himself in.
In the afternoon at around 3 PM, the father of the suspect, Mr. Luo, called the investigating police officers stating that his son, Luo, after committing the crime, no longer dared to run away. After being persuaded by relatives, he had agreed to surrender to the public security authorities. Forty minutes later, the suspect Luo, accompanied by family members, surrendered to the police station.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim, Ms. Fang, was 22 years old and lived in the Shihe District of Xinyang City. According to Luo's confession, recently there had been conflicts between them, and he suspected that his girlfriend was deceiving him. A day before the incident, Ms. Fang did not answer Luo's phone calls, which left Luo searching all night and filled with anger. On the morning of February 25th at around 9 AM, Luo finally managed to contact his girlfriend and asked her to meet him at his father’s meat stall to clear things up. “When I saw her, I felt that if we couldn't live together, we might as well die together. At the moment, I felt like I was crazy,” Luo recalled. He then picked up the knife from the meat stall and stabbed Ms. Fang.
At the scene of the crime, the father of the assailant recounted the events: His son, Luo, was 21 years old, from Luoshan County, and had been in a nearly six-year relationship with Ms. Fang. Around 11 AM that morning, Ms. Fang came to the meat stall to meet their son. “At the time, Ms. Fang was chatting with us two elders. When my son approached the meat stall, without saying a word, he picked up the boning knife from my stall and stabbed Ms. Fang in the chest three times.”
Four hours after the incident, the perpetrator turned himself in to the authorities.
