Three men were drinking and eating dinner at night, chatting about their dissatisfaction with working. Suddenly, two of the men, emboldened by alcohol, told the other man: "Don't look down on us because we are unfamiliar with this place, but we won't be bullied either. Let me tell you the truth, the two of us have killed someone before..." Based on this information, the Xin Cheng police arrested the fugitive of a murder case that had been unsolved for seven years.
Following this lead, under Xiao Liang's guidance, the officers located the restaurant in Xianyang where Li Xiaohu and his accomplice worked and placed them under control.
When interrogating Xiao Liang, the police worked on him to encourage him to expose what he knew. Unexpectedly, after some deep thought, Xiao Liang directly informed the police that he knew about two out-of-town suspects who had allegedly committed murder. According to Xiao Liang, two months ago, when he was drinking with a Hunan native named Li Xiaohu and others at a night market, they talked about the difficulties of earning money while working away from home. Li Xiaohu and his accomplice then boasted to Xiao Liang, saying: "Brother, don't underestimate us just because we're workers. We're not afraid of anyone. To be honest, the two of us once severely injured three people..."
After the incident, the three fled everywhere. Two years ago, they escaped to Xi'an and used fake ID cards to register for work in Xianyang. Another accomplice previously drowned himself in Xianyang Lake for unknown reasons.
When initially brought in, Li Xiaohu and his accomplice refused to admit anything, but eventually, after the police verified their identities through the Public Security Population Information Network and confirmed that Li Xiaohu's name was fake, the two finally gave in. They confessed that their real names were Wu Haibo (25 years old) and Wu Haitao (27 years old), natives of Chenzhou, Hunan Province. In 2005, they had teamed up with another accomplice in Chenzhou and brutally attacked three people who had "bullied" their friend, causing serious injuries. Later, according to the Chenzhou police, one of the three victims died from severe injuries. The Chenzhou police issued a nationwide warrant for their arrest.
Yesterday afternoon, the chief of the Xifu Road Police Station of the Gong'an Xin Cheng Branch, Hei Jianjun, introduced that on the evening of February 11, the police arrested an out-of-town drug addict named Xiao Liang (a pseudonym).
Currently, the two are being held at the Xin Cheng Detention Center. This report is by journalist Yang Xiaogang.
