In this era of rapid technological development, the cultivation of talent is particularly important. Communication and learning know no boundaries. Therefore, for people living in an environment where multiple languages are communicated, it is very important to at least master a foreign language. English is the easiest second language for people to choose. Now, according to the content of the internal training courses in the expansion training company, let's introduce methods for learning English.
How to learn English well and achieve a high standard of English proficiency is a common problem encountered by beginners, especially elementary school students who are just starting to be exposed to English. It is essential to make children feel that learning English is not a difficult task, help them grasp the methods and interest in learning English well, and provide them with a positive and healthy learning environment.
Learning English requires cultivating several study habits in children; first, the habit of familiarizing oneself with words. First, in the expansion training company, repetition isn't necessarily better when done excessively. The number of times you recite, copy, and read aloud can be effectively repeated within 72 hours, and copying around 10 times is generally sufficient. Too many repetitions will actually be easily forgotten after a short period. Also, don't worry about forgetting too much if you try to memorize too many words at once. The key lies in repeating once within three days and then again after some time, preferably within a month. Two tools can greatly assist us: one is word cards, which can be arranged in the order of weeks or months, and copying ten times can be used to write the content of the word cards. The other is a whiteboard or small blackboard; for simplicity, you can use the back of a calendar and cover it with wide tape to serve as a whiteboard. Before going to bed and upon waking up each day, repeat the vocabulary you need to memorize. After such a cycle, remembering many words will become easy. A cycle can last 7 days, continuously reviewing what was forgotten before, and on the seventh day, review the forgotten words from before. Additionally, record yourself reading the words with an MP3 player. Initially, it might feel unfamiliar, but after getting used to your own pronunciation, you can effectively learn while commuting, waiting for buses, or brushing your teeth. Nowadays, there's also the option of putting recordings on your phone, allowing you to learn anytime, regardless of whether you have headphones or not. Remember, excellence is a habit!
The second habit is reading. Acquiring knowledge through reading must involve classification, learning to read by theme. First, many books do not require us to scrutinize every word. When picking up a book we're interested in, we can judge whether it's a popular science book or a specialized academic work. If it has many illustrations that aren't even relevant to the title, it might just be a pretentious academic work that we can quickly skim through. If the publisher is famous, the author or translator is renowned, or the title itself is striking, we should carry it with us and read it whenever we have time. Second, learn to read by themes and details. My reading interests are broad, sometimes even seemingly disordered, but I am very clear about which books excite my inner emotions, even making me blush like during my first love, that excitement can help us determine whether we like a particular subject.
The third habit is reading aloud. Learn to read foreign languages loudly, understanding the content internally and engaging in related thoughts simultaneously. For example, when reading English news, many people cannot understand its meaning when reading it aloud. You can practice in the following steps: Read aloud familiar articles you've studied, imitate recordings if available, read aloud while understanding, and review grammar while mimicking recordings. Read less familiar articles without new words, imitating the tone and stress from previous recordings, striving to fully understand. Read articles with unfamiliar words while comprehending them.
The fourth habit is having more opportunities to practice speaking English, enhancing the natural fluency of spoken English. Create a relaxed, atmosphere-rich learning environment for children, making them feel that learning English is a fun activity. This way, they can better grasp learning techniques and become more proactive in their studies. As the saying goes, "Among the mountains of books, cleverness is the path; in the boundless sea of learning, joy is the boat." Educate children to enjoy the pleasure of learning English, encouraging them to take initiative and develop these habits consciously.
Every child is a genius; it’s just that educational methods differ later on. Provide children with a relaxed, healthy learning environment, offer correct learning methods, and let them gradually cultivate conscious study habits. A bright future awaits the children to explore!
