Revenge over Debt

After the incident, Xia's group fled knowing they had caused trouble. Around 9 PM, taxi driver Fang was passing by the industrial zone when he was stopped by suspect Jia. Fang stopped his car and found someone injured, initially thinking it was a car accident. Later, he learned that the person had been stabbed. He then called the police and sent two of the injured to the hospital.

In the darkness, both sides wielding steel pipes and large knives jumped out of their vehicles and fought each other, leading to tragedy. Last September, in a certain industrial park in Jinshan, there was a mass brawl resulting in one death and one serious injury. After the incident, 40 men involved were soon approved for arrest by the Jinshan District Procuratorate on suspicion of mass brawling. Recently, 17 of these men were prosecuted by the Jinshan District Procuratorate on suspicion of mass brawling.

Around 8 PM, everyone was summoned by Xia to the underground garage of a coffee shop to collect weapons. Xia stood beside an unlicensed black Volkswagen SUV, calling everyone to take steel pipes and machetes from the trunk. These machetes were about 70 cm long, and the steel pipes were all water supply pipes, approximately 100 cm long.

On the evening of September 28 last year, migrant worker Xia (at large) and several friends were singing at a KTV in Jinshan Petrochemical area. Afterward, they encountered migrant worker Huang at the entrance. Xia asked Huang: "When will you repay the tens of thousands of yuan you borrowed from me?" Huang replied: "I lost all the money, I can't pay it back." They started arguing and subsequently got into a physical fight. During the struggle, Huang took out a concealed dagger and stabbed Xia, severing the tendons in Xia's right hand. Local man Wan and others hurriedly accompanied Xia to the hospital. Before leaving, Huang fiercely warned Xia: "Don't report this to the police, if you do, I'll kill you."

Of these, 17 people were prosecuted on suspicion of mass brawling.

The next day, after being discharged from the hospital, Xia called various fellow townspeople, planning revenge against Huang. At around 3 PM, Xia met with many of his fellow townspeople in the hall of the Coffee Island Cafe, preparing to negotiate with Huang to resolve the dispute. At around 7 PM that evening, Xia called Huang, agreeing to meet at the industrial zone at around 9 PM to clarify matters, which Huang agreed to. Afterwards, Xia told those present: "Tonight we are going to the industrial zone to resolve disputes with Huang. Upon arrival, except for the drivers who won't get out of the cars, everyone else must fight. Whoever doesn't fight will die here, and whoever is beaten down by the other side will be given 30,000 yuan!" According to the confessions of suspects Wan and Sheng who were present, the hall of the Coffee Island Cafe was full of people, at least forty or fifty. Among them, more than ten were temporary hired black cab drivers. Dinner that day was paid for by Sheng, costing over 10,000 yuan, and each black cab driver was given 200 yuan as compensation.

Debt "Negotiation": 40 People Wielding Knives and Sticks in a Free-for-all

After receiving the report, the Jinshan police quickly acted, successively arresting 40 suspects. The Jinshan Procuratorate also sent personnel to intervene early, assisting the public security organs in securing evidence and capturing some fugitives.

One Death

This was a vicious case of gang fights due to personal grudges, resulting in one death and one serious injury, causing extremely bad effects among the local population, unacceptable in a harmonious society.

This mass brawling case dragged many migrant and local young men into it, especially involving many taxi drivers, who violated the law, which is very regrettable. Some black cab drivers did not initially know that the customers were hiring them for a gang fight, but when they learned at the coffee shop that the customers were preparing to use machetes and steel pipes for a gang fight, instead of reporting it, they continued driving, making such assisting behavior also constitute a crime.

Around 9 PM, dozens of people led by Xia arrived at the industrial zone in more than ten black cabs. Within minutes, Huang's group drove in with a Golden Cup van and three sedans. As these vehicles stopped in the middle of Xia's convoy, more than ten men got out of the Golden Cup van. The first man to get out was holding a Guan Gong knife, while others held various machetes, beginning to surround Xia's convoy. Seeing this, Xia shouted out the window: "They're here, everyone get out and attack together." Under Xia's call, the doors of more than ten vehicles almost simultaneously opened, and more than twenty people armed with large knives and steel pipes rushed towards the men getting out of the Golden Cup van. Instantly, both sides engaged in a fierce battle. In the darkness, a man surnamed Zhang from Huang's side was killed, and Huang himself was injured. According to suspect Lu's confession, during the battle, Xia's side Buick car collided with Huang's side Golden Cup van, creating chaos at the scene.
