Intel Executive: Ivy Bridge Processor to Be Delayed

Sina Technology News, February 27th afternoon Beijing time, Sean Maloney, Executive Vice President of Intel and Chairman of Intel China, said in a media interview that Intel's next-generation processor "Ivy Bridge" would be delayed in its release.

Maloney said: "I think it might be postponed until June." Although Intel had not officially announced the specific date for the launch of the "Ivy Bridge" processor, it had hinted that it would be released in the "spring." Before Maloney disclosed this information, there were already rumors that the "Ivy Bridge" processor would be postponed to late June.

"Ivy Bridge" will support the new generation of ultra-light thin laptops, Ultrabooks, which currently all use Intel's "Sandy Bridge" processors. The "Ivy Bridge" processor adopts Intel's first 3D transistor technology, with significantly enhanced graphics processing performance, and also supports USB 3.0, improving energy efficiency.
