Yangcheng Evening News, Heshan Edition - Reported by journalist Zhengwen Su: Feng Weigen, the branch secretary and director of Zhongdongsai Village Committee in Shaping Subdistrict, Heshan City, Jiangmen, was involved in illegal and disciplinary violations while handling the collective assets of the village committee. He was recently investigated by the Heshan City Discipline Inspection Commission and placed under "shuanggui" measures. Several other suspects have been criminally detained by the police.

It is reported that since October 9, hundreds of villagers from Zhongdongsai Village Committee in Shaping Subdistrict, Heshan City, have gathered multiple times at the Heshan City Letters and Calls Bureau and the gates of the municipal government to petition. They accused Feng Weigen, along with others, of selling shops worth billions of yuan, which are essential for their livelihood, at low prices, and illegally leasing fish ponds, factories, and shops to seek personal gains. The villagers requested relevant departments to thoroughly investigate the case and reclaim the collective assets of the village.

On October 26, Heshan City specially established a leadership group to handle the petitions of the villagers from Zhongdongsai Village. The group guided the villagers to submit written applications for auditing, sealed the account books, suspended the transfer procedures of the involved assets, and regularly held villagers' meetings to update them on the situation.

On November 15, the leadership group held a mediation meeting. After listening to the recent investigation results and progress of various tasks from the dedicated working group, they decided on November 23 to place Feng Weigen, the secretary and director of Zhongdongsai Village, under "shuanggui" measures by the Heshan City Discipline Inspection Commission; the public security organs also took criminal detention measures against several other suspects. Currently, the case is still under further investigation.
