According to Xinhua News Agency, the second batch of model sites for the Yangtze River Delta Expo Theme Experience Tour was recently announced. The "Chinese Crystal Capital" in Donghai County of our city was selected for reflecting the theme of the Shanghai World Expo 2010 "Better City, Better Life". It is also the only selected model site in our city.
It is predicted that there will be 70 million domestic and overseas tourists visiting Shanghai during the Shanghai World Expo 2010. The "Yangtze River Delta Expo Theme Experience Tour" is a special tourism product planned to attract more tourists to cities in the Yangtze River Delta region and to the Shanghai World Expo. Last year, 52 model sites were selected from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui provinces. These four provinces and municipalities will take these model sites as a basis, and through a series of promotional activities organized by designated group tour travel agencies, showcase the rich Expo-themed elements, beautiful natural environment, and profound cultural heritage of the Yangtze River Delta city cluster to the world.
