Our news report: On December 20th, a large number of students and parents gathered at the gate of Oriental Middle School. The reason was that the school required students to buy new uniforms, and some students and parents from the senior year had objections.

According to the students' reflection, in a case where a wife sued drinking companions after her husband drowned when drunk, the school required them to purchase new uniforms; otherwise, they wouldn't be allowed to attend classes or even enter the school gates. A parent, Ms. Li, said, "My child is in their final year of high school, with only a few months left until graduation. Even if we buy the new uniform, it won't be worn for long. Why should we spend this unnecessary money? Moreover, students already have uniforms, so why do we need to buy new ones?" Ms. Li expressed confusion about the school's actions.

Subsequently, our reporter interviewed Mr. Gao from the school office of Oriental Middle School. Mr. Gao said, "Buying new uniforms is voluntary and not mandatory; there’s no rule that says students can't enter the school if they don’t buy the new uniform." When asked why students needed new uniforms when they already had old ones, Mr. Gao replied that the old uniforms were for spring and autumn wear. As the weather gradually turns colder, the previous uniforms lack sufficient warmth. Therefore, the school has purchased a new batch of winter-appropriate uniforms.
