A middle school implements a "one-card system," which can also be used as a meal card and library card.
Parents are very supportive, but students feel overly restricted.
Yesterday at noon after school, students from the South Campus of Zhengzhou No. 2 Middle School were leaving in groups. They had to swipe their cards at the card reader at the school gate to go out.
One student who forgot to bring his card tried to leave the campus and was stopped by the security guard. He had no choice but to go back and get his card.
"Dear parent, your child XX left school at 12:05 PM on February 14, 2012." Once the student swipes the card, the parents will receive such information.
This is the "one-card system" that Zhengzhou No. 2 Middle School has been piloting this semester. It is introduced that in addition to the attendance function, the "one-card system" can also be used as a meal card, dormitory access card, and library card with several other functions.
More than 2,500 students can swipe their cards to leave the campus within 15 minutes.
At noon yesterday at 12 o'clock, there were 10 card readers placed at the entrance of the South Campus of Zhengzhou No. 2 Middle School, with three security guards supervising respectively.
As soon as the dismissal bell rang, the students rushed out of the classroom, walked to the school gate, took out their small cards, and swiped them to leave.
It is introduced that the card registers the personal information of the students, including photos, names, classes, etc.
All more than 2,500 students in the school have one card each, which is currently being used as an attendance card and a meal card. It is expected that starting next week, students will also need to swipe their cards to enter and exit the dormitory; the function of borrowing books with this card is also under preparation.
"Within 15 minutes, all students in the school can finish leaving the school," said Xin Haichao, the director of the Student Development Center of the school. Among the more than 2,500 students in the school, about 60% of the students gather to enter and exit the school gate, and these students can leave in about 13 minutes.
The information after the students swipe their cards will immediately enter the background management system and be sent to the parents' mobile phones.
Unrelated personnel can no longer mix into the campus
Xin Haichao stated that this measure by the school is, on the one hand, to strengthen school safety management, making it difficult for unrelated people to mix into the campus, and facilitating relevant teachers to statistically summarize the attendance situation of students in various classes and their entry and exit from the school gate; on the other hand, parents can fully understand the time when their children enter and leave the school gate, eliminating many worries and concerns.
Moreover, the chest cards originally worn by students are easy to lose, and more than 1,100 boarding students in the school also need to use meal cards. Using the "one-card system" reduces the trouble of children carrying multiple cards.
It is introduced that the system is currently in the trial operation stage. When it is officially put into use, parents can voluntarily choose whether to activate this service.
