Imagination plastic surgery can change one's form at will. Among these people, there are indeed some with physical defects or inadequacies; after treatment, they can achieve significant improvement, but they remain unsatisfied with the degree of improvement and continue to pursue an imagined state of perfection. Another group has no obvious defects or insufficiencies, but their economic conditions are very favorable. They hope to spend money to make themselves more beautiful, and this group has high requirements for beauty effects. Even if the results are slightly less than ideal, they will have many complaints. Therefore, as seekers of beauty, it is essential to learn to ask more "whys" and listen to more objective and practical advice, and not blindly pursue the effects of plastic surgery.

Regarding people like Li Li who frequently undergo plastic surgery, our editor consulted with a plastic surgery expert. The expert believes that what seekers of beauty need to address first is not their external appearance issues, but rather their psychological confusion and excessive demands regarding their looks. Thus, experts suggest that individuals with the following mindsets should not undergo plastic surgery.

The other day, I met Li Li at Wuhan Yimeishang Plastic Surgery and Beauty Hospital, and she somewhat resembles Fan Bingbing. Looking at her pre-surgery photos: a wide face, a flat nose. Li Li said she cannot tolerate any small imperfections on her body. "In my office, there are three mirrors. During my spare time from work, I would look into the mirror to study which aspects of my appearance are insufficient, then I would self-design how to fix them." Li Li said, although she has experienced painful times, "now lying on the operating table excites me because I firmly believe that after getting off the operating table, I will be even more beautiful."

To pursue perfection, a woman from Anhui province underwent 61 surgeries in just 15 years, spending at least 700,000 yuan on plastic surgeries. Now, this plastic surgery enthusiast is still unsatisfied and plans to prepare for a buttock lift surgery.

During the 15 years, she underwent multiple surgeries including eyes, nose, cheekbone grinding, facelifts, back liposuction, among others. She had eye surgeries three times alone, once wanting European-style double eyelids, another time Korean-style double eyelid surgery. Currently, Li Li has spent at least 700,000 yuan on plastic surgeries, almost using all the money she earned from wedding photography, translation, and sales jobs.

Some seekers of beauty go beyond ordinary aesthetic views and propose extraordinary requests for a certain part of the body or a specific organ. For example, a young woman saw a photo of a girl with large, drooping breasts down to her abdomen and hoped to replicate the same breast shape. Such individuals require thorough explanations, persuading them to act according to normal standards.

Renowned domestic cosmetic psychology expert Professor Tian Yahua introduced that for most people, they self-recognize their physical appearance. If someone is dissatisfied with their own appearance and takes urgent, endless measures to change it, it is called Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), a type of obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Over 15 years, undergoing dozens of plastic surgeries, enduring 61 cuts, every part of her body except for her eyeballs, teeth, ears, eyelashes, chest, and buttocks has been operated on. Recently, this "plastic surgery enthusiast," Li Li (a pseudonym), appeared in Wuhan, preparing for a buttock lift surgery.

3 types of mentalities unsuitable for plastic surgery:

2. Proposing extraordinary requirements for certain parts

Li Li does not think she has OCD. She says, "Beauty is a woman's lifelong career. I want to live old and beautify old!"

3. Self-pessimistic consciousness about beauty

At the age of 36, Li Li is from Anhui Province. Studying Japanese, she places great importance on her appearance. In May 1995, at the age of 21, she underwent her first plastic surgery, having her chin and nose done, but unfortunately encountered an unqualified doctor. Instead of becoming more beautiful, she looked unnatural. In July 1998, she went to a hospital in Shanghai for double eyelid and nose surgery. Satisfied with the results, she subsequently sought plastic surgery multiple times from the same chief surgeon. Later, when the chief surgeon moved to Wuhan, she followed him to Wuhan.

From multiple hospitals in Wuhan, we learned that among the 100,000-person plastic surgery army in the city, 10% of people experience repeated plastic surgeries, and 2% to 3% of people develop psychological problems such as obsession and compulsion due to excessive reliance on plastic surgery and overly high expectations, requiring professional psychological treatment.

Such individuals do not have obvious defects, and ordinary people do not notice anything unusual. However, they possess a strong sense of self-pessimism, sighing in front of the mirror daily, feeling that a certain part of their body is not good enough, and the longer they look, the worse they feel. It is best to explain and persuade such individuals regarding their surgical requirements, and only perform necessary surgeries when absolutely needed.
