With the impending release of spring tea, the tea merchants in Songyang County's tea market have also begun bustling around. Starting this year, Songyang County has comprehensively implemented a real-name tea trading card system across the county. Tea farmers and merchants can use these cards to enter the market and conduct transactions by swiping the card, which not only provides convenience for tea farmers but also allows for traceability of transactions.

As the spring tea is about to hit the market, these days at the Songyang Gushi Town Convenience Center, tea farmers and merchants consulting and applying for tea trading cards have filled the windows. Old Ji is a major tea processor in the village, having been in the tea business for five or six years. The cumbersome procedures for tea market transactions were always his biggest headache every year. However, this year after registering his identity information, contact number, and home address, he received a tea trading card from the staff. Old Ji told us that with this card, selling tea will be much more convenient in the future.

"In the past, when selling tea, I had to register my ID, then go to the store before I could get paid. Now it’s much more convenient; just swipe the card."

Besides providing convenience to tea farmers and simplifying the transaction process, another important function of the tea trading card is to ensure the quality and safety of tea production and circulation through traceability. It combines the management platform of tea farmers' shops and dealers with SMS, IC cards, and networks organically. The card includes the tea farmer's name, address, and contact number. When tea farmers transact with tea merchants, they just need to swipe the card to complete the transaction information registration, transforming traditional manual ledger supervision into electronic ledger supervision.

"Previously, our purchase and sales ledgers were handwritten. Handwritten records sometimes allow unscrupulous tea farmers to write down fake ID numbers, phone numbers, and addresses, making it difficult to trace problem teas. Through this trading card, the information is truthfully recorded. By promoting this traceability platform, I can log in through the platform in my office and promptly grasp the market transaction situation, enabling better regulation of tea quality."

So far, Songyang County has issued over 2,000 tea trading cards. It is expected that during this year's spring tea market period, all tea farmers and merchants entering the Zhejiang South Tea Market for transactions will use more efficient and convenient tea trading cards.
