Show your personality by displaying a custom icon in the blog address bar

Recently, I took quite a few wrong turns trying to get my icon to display in the website address bar. I tried two plugins in the WordPress backend, Favicon-Head and Favicon-Manager, but neither of them worked. Upon checking the version numbers, I realized that the plugin authors hadn't updated them in a long time, so they were no longer compatible with the latest WordPress versions. Today, I finally managed to fix it, and looking back, it was as simple as it could be. I'm writing down the steps to help fellow bloggers who are looking for customization.
