Southern Daily News (Reporter/Fang Zhenbin, Intern Reporter/Huang Shaohong): At around 5:40 AM yesterday, a homicide occurred at the home of Zhou, a security officer in Yisha Liuhe Village, Shatian Town, Dongguan City, resulting in two deaths and two critically injured. Security officer Zhou and his eldest son were severely injured and hospitalized but are now out of danger; his wife died on the scene, and his youngest son died in the hospital after unsuccessful resuscitation attempts.
Yesterday afternoon, the Shatian police announced that the case was suspected to be a family tragedy caused by marital conflicts. After the incident, the police immediately conducted an on-site investigation and visited neighbors for information. Upon understanding the deceased's family situation and workplace, it was discovered that there had been long-standing prominent conflicts between Mr. and Mrs. Zhou. It was initially suspected that this case was a tragic result of a couple's conflict.
However, Zhou's cousin from the same village said that after the murder, the severely injured Zhou claimed: "A certain factory wanted to wipe out my entire family," revealing that five men in a minivan committed the crime and forcibly made Zhou drink something. According to reports from the Taiping People's Hospital, Zhou indeed showed signs of poisoning during emergency treatment. Meanwhile, some informed individuals stated that Zhou killed his wife and children due to issues related to house construction.
Villager Grandma Liang told reporters that at around 5 AM on the day of the incident, she heard cries for help, stepped out of her house, and saw about 100 meters away from her home, at Grandmother Zhou's doorstep, two "bloody figures" pounding on windows and shouting for help loudly.
Later, Grandma Liang found out that these two people were Zhou's sons, the elder son named Zhou Jian, and the younger son named Zhou Hui. "At the time, Jian was holding his younger brother Hui, knocking on the windows and doors of their grandmother's house, and shouting for help," said Grandma Liang. She noticed Jian covering Hui's neck, but blood still gushed out from Hui's neck, and his face turned purplish-black with rolled-back eyes. Meanwhile, the elder brother Jian also had head injuries, and his back was completely covered in blood; after pounding on the windows and doors, they collapsed onto a stone bench outside Grandmother Zhou's house, and Hui even went into shock several times.
At this moment, neighbors who heard the cries for help gathered one after another. Some villagers reported the incident to the police, and a few ran across the street to bang on Zhou's door, but after nearly a minute of banging, there was still no response inside. They decided to break the door open.
According to Zhou's cousins from the same village, neighbors borrowed a shovel from Grandma Liang's house to pry open the iron gate on the first floor of Zhou's house. One of the men involved in the rescue effort found Zhou lying near the window on the second floor and was later carried out by four men. According to Zhou's relatives, Zhou had cuts on his left chest and right arm.
As described by Mr. Liang, one of the participants in the door-breaking rescue, when they attempted to break down the door of Zhou's second-floor room, they found it was forcefully held from the inside, making it difficult to break through. After finally breaking the door, they discovered Zhou sitting behind the door, while Zhou's wife lay on the bed, soaked in blood. "We were puzzled then; if Zhou knew we came to save him, why did he hold the door?" Mr. Liang said.
It was learned that Zhou was a security personnel in Yisha Village, Shatian Town. His wife worked as a cleaner at a factory in Shatian Environmental Protection City before her death. The elder son was unemployed and stayed at home, while the younger son was in the first year of junior high school.
