[Fig] The SDK has revealed new features: the iPhone will support wireless media library control.

Rumors coming from TUAW claim that some Russian programmers have uncovered a piece of software called iControl in the latest iPhone firmware. This software appears to have Apple TV (and other remote-like) functionality, allowing the iPhone to directly access and play media from a local iTunes library. This would allow you to play your music and video over a wifi network without having to copy gigabytes worth of data to the phone itself, and also control iTunes on another computer.
