Google Cloud in Plain English

What exactly is Google's "cloud"? It is a network comprised of hundreds of thousands, or even about one million, inexpensive servers. Individually, these machines do not perform much better than home desktops. However, the amount of data stored in this network is astonishing, capable of holding countless copies of web data. This allows for faster search speeds, providing answers to billions of searches within the blink of an eye. Unlike many traditional supercomputers, Google's system never ages. If a machine within the network becomes outdated (usually after three years of use), engineers replace it with a newer, more powerful computer. This means that the "cloud" is almost like a living organism that can achieve immortality.

Google's cloud currently handles large-scale computations and data processing. Let Yiiiha imagine the future of the cloud - one of its goals is to achieve real-time global interaction and collaborative work. Take Tencent's RTX, 3Dmax's multi-machine rendering, and AutoCAD's collaborative design; it’s clear how important real-time collaboration will be in the future of work.

Consider another perspective: Imagine the current internet as a massive internet café. In this analogy, Google's cloud would be the super-server of this café. Not only could it function as a large disk array storing music and movies for customers to watch online or download, but it could also serve as a server for a diskless workstation system, allowing users to operate systems and games from the server without local storage. Although this may seem distant now, consider the current development speed of the internet. In the near future, when computers access the internet faster than their local hard drives, all of this not only becomes possible but also logical.

Imagine how powerful the unified platform of Google's cloud will be at that time. You won't need to install any operating systems, software, or games on your local hard drive. With just a license from the software manufacturer, you'll have free access. At that point, sharing will no longer be significant because most information and knowledge will inherently be shared. With the help of Google's search engine, everything will be readily accessible. The audiovisual entertainment industry will also rely on this super-platform to release albums and movies. By then, Google might become the world's largest advertising platform, with an audience counted in the billions.

Ha ha! Thinking about it makes it seem a bit scary. In an informatized and networked future, Google's cloud will be a digital behemoth, capable of anything; immense in size; indestructible; and immortal!! It will be the Matrix, the mother body of the matrix world!!

All of the above is merely Yiiiha's hypothesis. There's no need to worry, as harmony and unity are inevitable trends in societal development ^_^.
