There are still a large number of computer users who use Outlook Express to access their Windows Live Hotmail accounts to send and receive emails. However, this will no longer be possible after June 30th. In order to promote the Live platform, Microsoft has resorted to rather aggressive tactics: only Live Mail can be used to retrieve emails from Hotmail accounts!
