Methods to Gain Website Traffic

Many webmasters have struggled for years with building their sites but still cannot get much traffic, meaning very few customer clicks. Below, I will share some personal experience on how to gain website traffic:

Step 1: Choosing the Domain and Hosting

The first step in building a website is, of course, choosing an appropriate domain name and hosting service. There are many types of domains available, such as .gov, .org, .com, and .cn based on different suffixes. Choose a domain suffix that suits your needs, and include relevant keywords in your domain name. This will be beneficial for future optimization and establishing your site's professionalism.

Step 2: Keyword Selection

This is the first step in your strategy. First, you need to clarify the theme of your site, what your target customers need, and what keywords your competitors are using. Through comprehensive analysis, compile a list of keywords related to your site’s theme.

Step 3: Creating Original Content

Original content is crucial for any website, especially when starting out. Try to create your own content and keep it updated daily. This encourages search engine crawlers to visit your site frequently, which helps with your site's indexing.

Step 4: Optimization Analysis

1. Analyze your competitors. You can use "link:" to check this. For example: link:http://www.seo-0755.cn. Study your competitors and try to obtain links from those websites.

2. Submit to Directories and Listings

Submit your site to five groups of directories:

Dmoz.org and Yahoo (local versions like Yahoo.co.uk, Yahoo.ca, etc., if possible)

Find industry-specific directories and join them. If there is a fee, ensure it is reasonable.

Local directories for your country or region.

Any other suitable directories.

If targeting a local market, make sure to join yellow pages directories (since search engines often use these listings for local searches).

3. Build Your Own Blog

Create a blog related to your industry and keep it updated regularly. The content should ideally remain original. Allow visitors to leave comments or even write articles themselves. This creates more content and encourages people to return to see what's new.
