In the past, people always felt that intelligence was the most important factor to achieve success. However, on the path to victory for talented individuals, there are four major factors that precede intelligence.

First, purpose. You can never force a cow that doesn't want to drink water to drink it, and similarly, you cannot achieve the greatest success in a field you don't like. Purpose is the expression of desire, and "what to achieve" has always been more important than "how to do it." However, purpose is not just a wish; it is more specific and often sets a time limit for oneself. It not only has the emotional and motivating elements of desire but also has the self-determined element that prevents oneself from wandering aimlessly.

Second, vision. Vision refers to the grandeur of using all talents and maximizing global benefits. Of course, it also includes a significant level of tolerance – tolerance for others, strangers, and those who are less capable than oneself. Only in this way can you form an attitude of seeking life from a broad perspective, expand the realm of life, and enlarge your career.

Third, courage. The courage to take risks and act. Human freedom lies in human initiative, and human initiative lies in being open to multiple possibilities. If you don't try anything, you won't truly know what you are or what you really want. Therefore, there is a famous saying worth remembering: raise the gun – shoot – aim. Don't fear initial difficulties, don't rely on long-term stability, just do it first. All vitality comes from action, from dynamic development. People often complain about lacking opportunities; remember, movement is the mother of opportunity.

Fourth, persistence. Many things fail not because the plan is bad or because of lack of effort, but because the effort is insufficient. Nowadays, there is a concept called pioneers. What is pioneering? Pioneering means not only opening up but also advancing. Persistence is advancing, which is the tenacity of never giving up when facing difficulties.

Thus, purpose, vision, courage, persistence, and intelligence form the five most important factors for success, with intelligence only ranking fifth. If we believe that human intelligence is not entirely innate but can also be cultivated through nurture, then with the first four factors, intelligence will also be easier to develop.

As all successful people have proven, the most important factor for success is mental development. Summarizing the above five points, the first four refer to "heart," and the last one is "wisdom." In other words, for successful individuals, developing various forms of intelligence is indeed important, but more importantly, it is how you master your "heart."

How to expand one's mindset and strengthen one's heart power should be the most critical concern for those pursuing success.
