Google Eyes HP's Old Engine to Help Revive OCR and Restore Documents

Google announced that it has helped HP fix software defects in the Tesseract OCR engine that was developed 20 years ago. Tesseract, an OCR engine developed by HP Labs, was later released by HP as open source software.
