SWJ's Brief Talk: A Summary of the Experience with [Baidu HI]

by seosh on 2008-03-27 16:37:53

Hello everyone, today at the invitation of a friend, I downloaded and started using the currently popular Baidu company product - Baidu HI instant messaging tool. Overall, it feels fast, stable, green, and fashionable. In industry terms, it combines the advantages of QQ and MSN. Is this how SWJ sees it as well?

Below, let's experience the entire roaming process of Baidu HI together:

The installation program is an EXE file.

After installation, there will be a desktop shortcut.

I gave my ID to a friend, and then there will be a prompt on Baidu Space's short message service.

When you open the message, it shows the content inside. The second link is the help document.

When you open the first link, it tells you the download address for Baidu HI and activates your account, but you have to wait about 5 minutes before logging in.

SWJ applied with two Baidu accounts and it also supports multiple instances!

How to obtain group creation privileges?

During the exclusive preview period of Baidu Hi, as long as you successfully invite a certain number of friends, you can gain the corresponding group creation permissions.

How to invite friends to use Baidu Hi?

When you log into Baidu Hi for the first time, the system will automatically import your Baidu Space friends and send them an experience invitation.

After you successfully log into Baidu Hi, you can add contacts via their Baidu account or email address, and the system will automatically send out invitation letters. Your friends just need to follow the prompts in the invitation letter to gain login permissions for Baidu Hi. (How to add contacts?)

What is a successful invitation?

Once your friends receive the invitation letter or email invitation, if they click on the link in the letter to activate their Baidu account and successfully log into Baidu Hi, you will have completed one successful invitation.

Successful invitations and the number of groups that can be created are shown below:

If you successfully invite 30 friends to use Baidu Hi, you gain the permission to create 1 group;

If you successfully invite 75 friends to use Baidu Hi, you gain the permission to create a second group.

Listed as follows: Successful Invitations Number vs Group Creation Permissions

0-29: 0 Groups

30-74: 1 Group

75-142: 2 Groups

143-243: 3 Groups

244-395: 4 Groups

Usage Experience:

Sending messages to the other party within one minute will display them in a conversation box for that time period, which is a good experience.

It indeed combines the strengths of MSN and QQ:

For example, a) it supports multiple instances, b) it's fast, c) the interface is clean and refreshing, d) operations are simple and easy to learn, etc...

There isn't much else to feel for now. It's unknown if it can truly replace QQ in the future. Let's all wait and see with SWJ!
