The Evolution of the Browser Market Since 2002

If we take 1% market share as a benchmark, Netscape died in May 05, Opera began to carve out its own niche from 03 onwards. Surprisingly, Opera's market share has consistently remained between 1%~2%. The rise of Firefox brought IE down from its pedestal and slightly reduced Opera's share by a tiny bit. This browser, which was born in the 1990s, is now over 10 years old. Firefox emerged in 05 and achieved remarkable success right after its launch; in January 05, it already had an impressive 16.6% market share.
