Introduction: Previously, I published an article on this site titled "Flash Player Is Not Worthy of iPhone, Apple and Adobe Have a Dispute." Watch it here: http://www.hdsite.cn/mygood/mygood/20080308181830.htm. Not long after this incident, Adobe couldn't hold back anymore and began developing a Flash player for the iPhone.

According to foreign media reports, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen stated that the company intends to port the Flash Player to Apple's iPhone.

On Tuesday, Narayen mentioned during a telephone conference discussing Adobe's first-quarter financial results that Adobe will collaborate with Apple to ensure Flash applications can run on the iPhone.

Narayen made these comments while answering questions about porting the Flash player to other products. He said that Flash has become synonymous with the internet, and anyone who wishes to experience the wonders of the internet needs Flash support. Flash will be able to run on the Windows Mobile platform. Currently, 500 million phones have installed Flash. We will port Flash to the iPhone, and we will cooperate with Apple. We have evaluated Apple's SDK and can now independently develop a Flash version for the iPhone. We believe this will benefit our mutual customers.

Adobe officials have clearly indicated that they want web applications written in Flash to run on the iPhone. However, Apple has not yet allowed Flash to run on the iPhone, as it is concerned that Flash applications may run too slowly. Apple's leader, Steve Jobs, stated at last year's May shareholders meeting that full-featured Flash applications run too slowly on the iPhone and are therefore useless. He also said that the mobile version of Flash called Flash Lite cannot run on the Web.

Narayen's comments suggest that Adobe can use Apple's SDK to develop a Flash Lite version for the iPhone.

Earlier this week, Microsoft announced that it has licensed Flash Lite, allowing Flash player applications to run on Windows Mobile.
