Chen Jie said that today Yangmu will receive treatment at the Beijing Children's Hospital. With the help of enthusiastic netizens, they are raising the high medical expenses. Due to the "giant tumor" pressing painfully on her chest, Yangmu lies alone in bed shedding silent tears. This photo was taken by reporter YiXuan Wang.
But just three months ago, a new flesh tumor grew under Xiao Yangmu's left armpit. It was initially only as big as a soybean but grew to the size of a basketball within a few months. It has already severely affected Yangmu's normal life and her body has become skin and bones. Xiao Yangmu said in broken Mandarin: "It hurts, I can't eat, I can't walk."
Three years ago, Yangmu had her first flesh tumor on her back, which weighed 2 jin (approximately 1kg). It was removed in Lhasa but recurred a year later. Chen Jie said, "The second flesh tumor on her back weighed 11 jin (approximately 5.5kg), making it impossible for her to live normally." In late June 2010, with the help of kind-hearted people, Yangmu came to Beijing Children's Hospital where the tumor was removed. Afterward, she also had a smaller tumor removed in Shanghai.
According to a report by reporter Yi from our newspaper, an 11-year-old Tibetan girl named Yangmu, three months ago, again developed a flesh tumor, which quickly grew to the size of a basketball. This is already the fourth tumor in the past three years, with the previous three successfully removed, the heaviest one being 11 jin (approximately 5.5kg). Her situation was discovered by netizens who then posted it online, drawing everyone's attention. With the help of netizens, she has once again come to Beijing for treatment.
At 8 o'clock last Monday morning, accompanied by her neighbor Chen Jie, Yangmu arrived in Beijing and rented a civilian house near the Beijing Children's Hospital to settle down temporarily. Chen Jie said that when Yangmu was six months old, her parents divorced. Her father is a psychiatric patient and her brother suffers from congenital cataracts. She only attended school for a year before being forced to drop out due to suffering from multiple fibromas.
