Computers That Fit in Your Pocket

Super portable mobile computers, or UMPCs (Ultra Mobile Personal Computers), have been making headlines in recent years. OQO has strong technological and market advantages in this field, having held the top spot for global market share for five consecutive years. As the world's smallest computer currently able to run the Windows Vista operating system, the OQO UMPC not only won the "Best Mobile Computer Award" at the 2007 CES in the United States but was also personally demonstrated by Microsoft founder Bill Gates. Besides its prominent appearance in *Mission: Impossible III*, the OQO UMPC also made a striking impression in the current hit American TV series *Prison Break*. With the arrival of the New Year 2008, OQO officially entered the Chinese market.

Currently, there are three models of OQO UMPC available in the domestic market: the Gold Edition, Diamond Edition, and Leader Edition. The one we have on hand is the OQO UMPC Diamond Edition. In terms of product appearance, it’s not much bigger than a smartphone. Due to its slide-out design, the keyboard of the computer is hidden beneath a 5-inch LCD screen, cleverly disguising its identity— at first glance, you might think it's an MP4 player! However, inside its compact frame, it houses a 1.5GHz VIA C7-M ULV ultra-low voltage processor, integrated VIA VX700 graphics card, 1GB DDR2-533 memory, 60GB hard drive, built-in speakers, microphone, wireless network card, lithium battery, as well as a variety of input/output interfaces such as USB 2.0, VGA, headphone jack, HDMI, and comes pre-installed with the Windows XP Professional operating system. The dimensions of the OQO are merely 142.24mm x 83.82mm x 25.4mm, and the entire weight is only 454g, allowing it to be easily slipped into a briefcase or even a clothing pocket. Reflecting on how computers were once intimidating behemoths confined to laboratories several decades ago, one can't help but marvel at the wonders of modern technology.
