Our reporter Tang Yu: Yesterday morning at around 11 o'clock, on a small road in the 8th neighborhood of Honggang City's Second Street near Construction Road No.7 in Qingshan, a man was shot and critically wounded and later died from his injuries.
When I arrived at the scene, the injured man had already been sent to the hospital. Several police cars were parked nearby where the incident happened, and the police were investigating the scene. There was a small amount of blood on the ground.
Witness Mr. Fan said that he is a resident of the 8th neighborhood of Honggang City's Second Street. At the time, he heard a "bang" sound, and when he ran outside, he saw a man lying on the ground with a chest injury and his clothes covered in blood. About three or four minutes later, four police cars and an ambulance arrived, and the ambulance quickly took the injured person to the hospital.
A merchant near the incident site said that before it happened, he saw two men chasing three men. The one among the three leading men pulled out something that looked like a handgun and shot one of the two men following them, a young man. Subsequently, the three leading men stopped a taxi and fled the scene. After the incident, the companion of the injured man chased after the taxi while calling the police.
I learned from Wuhan Iron and Steel General Hospital that after being sent to the hospital, the injured man had already stopped breathing.
Currently, the police are investigating this matter.
